DAYS OFF (SHIPPING LINE)

What are days off?

These are the days that the shipping lines grants to carry out the management and procedures necessary for the release of your container.

Thereafter, the shipping company charges an amount that varies depending on the type of container or country.

What is the purpose of days off?

Export: have a certain time before departure for collection (if required) and comply with the closures (VGM, physical and documentary) necessary to ship your cargo.

Import: time for revalidation, dispatch, delivery of the cargo and return of the container to the shipping company.

How to request days off at destination?

When making the booking there is an established time depending on the shipping line contracted since they differ from the route of the country of origin and destination; if necessary, extra days will have to be contracted.

What to do in case more days off are needed?

These are requested directly from the shipping line or forwarder. The approval will depend on the volume, the congestion of the port of origin and/or destination, since the cost will be made according to this.
